Adult Swim Announces Common Side Effects Season Two!

Let’s face it, Common Side Effects has been the talk of Adult Swim programming. You love it, I love it, we’ve been raving about it for weeks, even in our recent Swimcast where we delve into it a bit. I’ve been savoring the last few episodes (mostly because I’ve been busy adulting, but also to hang onto them) in case this was all we were going to get…

…whelp, we’re not! This afternoon, AS announced that a second season of the mushroom-laden dramedy by the team who brought you Scavenger’s Reign will be back in the not-too-distant future! Worth noting the season one finale will be released this week, but it’s reassuring that we can expect more from Marshall, Frances, Socrates the Turtle, and the rest.

ADULT SWIM RENEWS ACCLAIMED SERIES “COMMON SIDE EFFECTS” FOR SECOND SEASON

BURBANK (March 28, 2025) – From Joe Bennett (“Scavengers Reign”) and Steve Hely (“Veep”) and Executive Producers Mike Judge and Greg Daniels (“King of the Hill”), the animated comedic thriller that follows what happens after a mysterious healing mushroom is discovered, “Common Side Effects,” will return for a second season on Adult Swim.

“Joe and Steve did their job by crafting a boundary-pushing and genre-defining piece of television that re-frames what ‘adult animation’ is capable of,” said Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen. “And you all did your job by showing up on Adult Swim and Max to support the show and lighting up your socials to spread the word. So, see? We CAN have nice things.”

“We are grateful for the enthusiastic response to ‘Common Side Effects’ and are thrilled to continue exploring this world with our amazing team and the fans who have embraced the show,” said co-creators Bennett and Hely. “The opportunity to push the boundaries of animation and storytelling on Adult Swim is like a wonderful mushroom dream. Our goal with the show is to transform planet Earth and restore the human spirit. For now, we will settle for a second season.”

The half-hour series follows Marshall and Frances, two former high school lab partners who share a secret: Marshall has discovered the world’s greatest medicine, a mushroom that can heal almost anything. But getting it out into the world won’t be easy – the DEA, big pharma, and international businessmen are all on the chase to stop them.

The finale episode of the debut season of “Common Side Effects” will air this Sunday at 11:30om ET/PT on Adult Swim.

“Common Side Effects” stars Joseph Lee Anderson, Mike Judge, Martha Kelly, Dave King, and Emily Pendergast. The series is produced for Adult Swim by Bandera Entertainment and Green Street Pictures.

Teenage Euthanasia News: S2 Premiere Jumps to 8/26 + Merch

Via their Instagram account, the upcoming second season of Teenage Euthanasia will be moving from the previously announced Sunday, July 23rd over to Wednesday, July 26th. Adult Swim’s YouTube reflects the change in a now unlisted trailer that had been released. An interesting move, perhaps to see if the upcoming expanded content on the network will work (once again) during the week. We will keep an eye out if any other broadcast changes, etc. occur.

Adult Swim returns to the Tender Endings Funeral Home when season two of the adult animated comedy Teenage Euthanasia debuts Sunday, July 23 at Midnight ET/PT and streams the next day on Max. Set in near-future inland Florida, this series follows the latest undead adventures of the Fantasy family voiced by Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite), Emmy® Award-winner Bebe Neuwirth (Cheers), Jo Firestone (Joe Pera Talks With You) and Emmy® Award-winner Tim Robinson (I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson).

Adult Swim Greenlights Season Two of Royal Crackers

To the surprise of very few (unless you aren’t a fan), Adult Swim has greenlit Season Two of the (soon to be?) hit show, Royal Crackers, ahead of the Season 1 premiere next Sunday night. Between the first episode being show on YouTube as well as the April Fool’s surprise, definitely worth checking out.

Leading into the premiere of Adult Swim’s newest animated comedy Royal Crackers this Sunday, Adult Swim announced today that it has ordered a second season of the series. The new half-hour comedy created by and starring Jason Ruiz follows the Hornsby family as they vie for control of their once-successful cracker company.

“Television has done a great job exploring how families clash over the fate of oil, media or cattle empires, but until now, no one has had the courage to address the savory snack food industry,” explained Michael Ouweleen, President of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network.

“We’re all super grateful Adult Swim gave us the chance to tell more stories about our characters,” added Ruiz. “And if you can’t wait to see what happens in season two, then buckle your seatbelts for season one.”Royal Crackers was once the king of snacks, but the empire is crumbling. When the family patriarch, tyrannical company founder Theodore Hornsby Sr. ends up in a “super coma,” the rest of the Hornsbys will take their lack of talent and business acumen and try to make Royal Crackers the success it once was.To highlight the series launch, Adult Swim constructed a billboard that’s as unusual and unstable as the Hornsby family’s company. Made completely of crackers, the billboard is currently available to see for a limited time on Atlanta’s Beltline at 750 Ponce De Leon Pl NE #1. “Royal Crackers” stars Andrew Santino (“Dave”), Jessica St. Clair (“Veep,” “American Housewife,” “The Deep Dive” podcast), David Gborie (“Exploding Kittens,” “All Fantasy Everything” podcast), Emmy winner Maile Flanagan (“Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks,” “Naruto,” “Not Dead Yet”) and Fred Tatasciore (“Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal”). Ruiz serves as executive producer along with Seth Cohen (“The Last Man on Earth”). The series is produced by Titmouse.

Adult Swim Sets Newsreaders Season Two Premiere Date

With an already stellar fall lineup announced for [adult swim], between Tim and Eric, Mike Tyson, Squidbillies and more… can there be more announced? The answer: there can. We reported back in January that production was under way for Season Two of the Childrens Hospital spin-off, Newsreaders. Swim PR announced today that the new season will hit our TV screens on Thursday, October 23rd at midnight (more than likely to keep the Thursday night block fresh from the season finales of Black Jesus and Tim and Eric’s Bedtime Stories).

The press release also confirmed the name of new host Regan Biscayne (played by Firefly’s Alan Tudyk) replacing the conspicuously absent Louis LaFonda (played by Mather Zickel). In addition to Alan Tudyk, returning for season two will be Alison Becker, Beth Dover, Dannah Phirman, and (of course) Ray Wise reprising his role as the Andy Rooney-esque Skip Reming.

The new season will also include guest spots from Scott Adsit (30 Rock), Malin Akerman (Childrens Hospital), Billy Ray Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Jenna Fischer (The Office), Rob Huebel (Childrens Hospital), Tom Lennon (Reno 911), Randall Park (Veep), Danny Pudi (Community), Rob Riggle (NTSF:SD:SUV::), Martin Starr (NTSF:SD:SUV::), James Urbaniak (Venture Bros.) and starting the season off, 80’s TV Icon, David Hasselhoff.

Conan O’Brien to Guest Star in Eagleheart Season 2

Via The Futon Critic, an Adult Swim press release sheds some light on the latest exploits of Marshal Chris Monsanto and company in the second season of Eagleheart.

This season, Marshal Monsanto, aided by his sidekicks Brett Mobley (Brett Gelman, The Other Guys) and Susie Wagner (Maria Thayer, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), sets out to track down a psychotic kids’ show host, search for the kidnapped King of the Hobos, fend off sinister board games, and take down a scat-singing mob boss.

Eagleheart is produced by Conan O’Brien’s Conaco Productions, and fans have speculated whether Mr. O’Brien himself would make a guest appearance. Wonder no more.

Along the way, they’ll encounter special guest stars Conan O’Brien, Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), and more.

Season two premieres April 12 at midnight Eastern.

Editor’s Note: According to the upcoming DVD release of Eagleheart Season One, Conan appears in the unaired pilot. Eager to see both appearances.

Eagleheart Greenlit for a Second Season

Still with two more episodes left in the first season, crime-drama/Walker Texas Ranger parody Eagleheart has been renewed for another season.

That was fast.

If you haven’t seen it or you haven’t seen enough of it, the show airs on Thursdays at 12am EST/PST.
It stars Chris Elliott, was created by Michael Koman and Andrew Weinberg, and is being produced by Conan O’Brien, Jason Woliner, Troy Miller, Tracey Baird, David Kissinger, Jeff Ross, and Matt Harrigan.
