[adult swim] is notorious for rejecting different things… mc chris’s new show, the continued existance of their shop, heck… at one point they even rejected playing the short film “Rejected” by Don Hertzfeldt. This past week, we at [as]central learned of another rejection… this time in the form of a tv ad.
According to the NY Daily News, model Kate Upton is scheduled to star in an ad for Zoo York. The ad, deemed by most (including both MTV as well as [adult swim]) as “too risque.” Here’s some info about the ad…
Upton is seen jogging through Tompkins Square Park in New York’s East Village neighborhood as the skate brand’s infamous “talking” cockroaches provide expletive-ridden commentary along the sidelines.
According to a press release by Zoo York, the ad was banned for “its use of “bleeped profanity” and an image of Upton’s “erect nipple.” Because [adult swim] has never EVER bleeped profanity or shown erect nipples before.
At any rate, the ad will appear SOMEWHERE on TV as well as online in early April.
