Adult Swim Central covers [adult swim], animation, comedy and whatever else we happen to be geeking out about that week. We have been doing it since 2002.
We are not the network. We are an independent fan publication that has been writing about it for twenty-four years, which is a different thing and occasionally a confusing one.
How this happened
It started as a fan site for Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Then a few more fan sites for a few more shows. Those got rolled into one place covering Adult Swim news, which led to a podcast, which generated so much off-topic chatter that we spun the geekier tangents off into their own show. That show developed the same problem. Eventually there were enough of them to call it a network, so we did, and the Art Comedy Pop-Culture Network has been running alongside the site ever since.
The pandemic pushed us onto Twitch. Writing for other geek outlets pushed us back toward articles. For a while ACPN was a full audio and video operation standing on its own, until the obvious thing became obvious and the two folded back together.
Which is the pattern, honestly. It keeps branching off, and it keeps coming home.
Why
Because I like computers, and writing, and doing the research, and more than any of that I like geeking out about something and handing it to somebody who is going to geek out about it too. I was the loner type when I was younger. Building the place where the like-minded people show up turned out to be the whole point, and it still is.
What we cover
Adult Swim news, information and fandom first. Then movies, television, gaming, toys and collectibles, comic books, events and conventions, and interviews when we can get them. There is a twenty-plus year archive on this site, a good deal of which is the only surviving record of things that happened.
ACPN Podcasts
The network lives at ACPN Podcasts. Current shows: The Swimcast, BLC Podcast, Play Comics, Tales from the Brick, 3 Movies That Changed Your Life and CheapShow. Hosts keep their shows and their voice. We handle the rest.
