Annecy Festival is in full swing this week, which has quietly become Adult Swim’s real Upfronts now that the traditional Upfronts are basically a relic of a bygone media era. If you want to know what the network is actually planning for the next year, you don’t watch a stage presentation in New York anymore — you watch what they roll out in France. Annecy has turned into Adult Swim’s annual crystal ball, the place where they test the waters, flex the weirdness, and remind everyone that animation’s strangest neighborhood is still very much alive.

Among the handful of reveals Adult Swim brought to Annecy this year is President Curtis, a series we’ve been expecting ever since it was first teased at San Diego Comic‑Con last summer. The show officially lands July 26 at 11:30pm ET/PT on Adult Swim (next day on HBO max), with episodes streaming the next day on HBO Max. Co‑created by Dan Harmon and James Siciliano, the series puts Keith David (Gargoyles, Community) back in the presidential hot seat as Andre Curtis, dealing with all the interdimensional diplomacy, paranormal headaches, and unexplained phenomena Rick Sanchez famously refuses to acknowledge. Stephanie Beatriz (Twisted Metal, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Jim Rash (Community, Mike Tyson Mysteries) round out the cast, giving the show the exact chaotic workplace energy you’d want from a multiverse political comedy.

And with Rick and Morty continuing to push the outer limits of whatever counts as “normal” in that universe, it’ll be interesting to see where President Curtis plants its flag — whether it leans into the same cosmic absurdity or carves out its own brand of bureaucratic chaos. Either way, it’s shaping up to be a fun addition to the expanding multiverse. Below, you’ll find the first images, the official trailer, and the full press release straight from Adult Swim.
