H. Jon Benjamin fans– and let’s face it, everyone’s one– rejoice! Jon’s two big, current TV shows and their main characters are gonna meet up in the next season of Archer.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jon Benjamin talked about an upcoming episode that the Archer team has produced where he’ll play both Bob Belcher and Sterling Archer. He explains the episode plot:

“It’s like a Bourne Identity-type plotline. It starts off with Archer as Bob, making hamburgers, but he doesn’t know that he’s Archer. He’s at the restaurant and these, like, I think Russian thugs come in, and Bob dispatches them expertly. And then he’s like, What just happened? How did I do that? So he has to try to figure out why he’s so good at killing people.”

Jon explains the episode was pretty much all Adam Reed’s idea, but Loren Bouchard was totally into it. And, I mean, who wouldn’t be? Crossovers might be hit-and-miss but this is just cool.

Linda will be in the episode, too, but not the kids:

Bob’s wife Linda (voiced by John Roberts) will be in the episode as well, he confirms, “but the kids aren’t in it. I guess it must’ve been a budget restriction or something. Like, ‘I can’t afford to pay an extra three grand to pay actors.’”

And on how the shows’ visual styles will work together, he explains:

“it’s Archer-style animation, but with all the accoutrements and characteristics of the [Bob’s] characters.”

So this will be fascinating. No date yet for season 4 of Archer. Hopefully this fall. So keep your eye out for more information on the crossover episode. Bob’s Burgers was renewed as well for a third season, but again, no date. So keep your eye out for all this stuff! Get excited for it.
