By now, you should know about the list of panels going on this coming Friday/Saturday during New York Comic-Con 2011… but, did you know outside of that, there are a few [as]-related events going on in New York?
Michael Kupperman at Desert Island
Thursday, October 13th @ 7pm
Michael Kupperman (creator of Snake and Bacon) will be signing copies of his new book “Mark Twain’s Autobiography 1910-2010″ at Desert Island (540 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn.) In additon, the world premiers of both “How Exaggerated Can My Death Get?” as well as “Tales Designed to Thrizzle #7.” Stay for release party (and Twain) fun! More info at Desert Island
WEEP at the Kirby Museum (Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ)
Saturday, October 15th @ 7pm
Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ will be featuring the “Kirby Museum,” an art show featuring works from various artists in tribute to legendary comic-book artist, Jack Kirby. In addition, Doc Hammer (of the Venture Bros.) and his band, WEEP will be performing along with WJ & The Sweet Sacrifice as well as The Boom Tubes. More information at Kirby Museum.
2nd Annual NYCC Geek-Out
Saturday, October 13th @ 7pm
Can’t make it out to Hoboken? Comic Books and Music not your cup of tea? What about zombies? The Geek Girl’s Network is hosting its 2nd Annual Geek-Out Party at the Stitch Bar in NYC. Here’s your chance to mingle with geeks from all around the country (zombie style, no less.) GGN will be handing out “Zombie Preparedness Swag Bags.” Also, did we mention we’re one of the sponsors for this event? JOIN US! More info at Geek Out NYC.
At this point, [adult swim] has yet to mention any parties of their own… but to speculate, with the amount of panels/personalities on hand for NYCC this year, there’s definitely a possibility. Stay tuned for any updates.
