How do you follow up “The Greatest Event in Television History?” With “The Greatest Event in Television History,” of course!
Adam Scott returns (with the help of his Parks and Rec. co-star, Amy Poehler as well as Horatio Sanz,) to recreate the opening to the 1980s TV series, Hart to Hart.

John J: Was this truly “The Greatest Event in Television History?” I really thought it fell short. For me, the original was like lightning in a bottle, and while it was pretty good, I still liked the first one. It was definitely lacking in the Jon Hamm department, but the whole “conflict” between Scott and Amy Poehler was kind of humorous. Certainly wasn’t lacking in the guest department, however… David Wain (Superjail, Childrens Hospital) was great as the thearapist. Also the Nick Kroll cameo at the end as Michael Bay’s “cousin.” For me, the best part was the actual recreation of the Hart to Hart open. Including Horatio Sanz’s voiceover as the gravelly voiced Lionel Stander (Useless trivia: Lionel Stander voiced the “old timer” Autobot Kup in the 1986 animated Transformers movie.)
Jason: I love Parks & Recreation a whole bunch, so seeing Adam Scott and Amy Poehler interact is nothing new– in fact it’s a familiar sight I love so much. I was also a huge fan of the original Greatest Event in Television History, which was pretty brilliant and had a wonder of a cast. The second Greatest Event in Television history was great, but man, it was just not as great as its predecessor. It seemed to use some of the same gags from the first Event over again, and the abnormal 19-minute-long time format sort of made it feel dragged out a bit. It was great to see David Wain and Nick Kroll though, and it was a pretty funny special in its own right. Too bad they didn’t have Paul Scheer appear as a now-ultra-successful Simon And Simon after changing his name to that in the first special, instead of the character he was here. Overall, it was good, and I look forward to the next GEITH, but it didn’t hold a candle to the original. We’ll always miss you, Jon Hamm.
Crazy Megane: It was good but I wouldn’t have this one replace the first GEITH as the real “greatest” of the two. The behind the scenes moments where Scott and Poehler were having differences were funny. I admit some of the lines said between them were hilarious. I enjoyed that positive outlook Sanz had about the project despite the two main people bickering. Also loved seeing David Wain as the therapist but that’s just the Superjail fan in me (love my Warden). Overall, I would definitely watch this again but it doesn’t compare to when Hamm was involved.
