One Punch Man Hits Us with a 2nd Season and Smartphone Game App

The English dub airing of One Punch Man on the Adult Swim block Toonami only has a couple more episodes left. I’ve been enjoying the show and hopefully, in the future, we’ll get to see more of Saitama on American television. In the mean time, we won’t have to really wait to get more episodes. It was announced today that One Punch Man will be getting a second season (and apparently a smartphone game as well).

The Japanese staff and cast that worked on the anime made the announcement at the One Punch Man Fall Festival along with announcing that a smartphone game app will be coming out next year. (source: animenewsnetwork)

So if you haven’t seen One Punch Man, the main character, Saitama, only became a hero for fun, but after three years of “special” training, he finds that he can beat even the mightiest opponents with a single punch. Though he faces new enemies every day, it turns out being devastatingly powerful is actually kind of a bore. Can a hero be too strong? (Source: Viz)

The last couple of episodes will air on Toonami on Saturdays at 12:30am EST. Hopefully Toonami will rerun the series if you haven’t seen the rest of the episodes up to this point.
