This one is for all fellow metal fans out there. Heavy Metal’s Grammys, The Revolver Golden Gods Awards, will be back in May. While I question some of the nominations (most notably the lack of Testament–Dark Roots of Earth was an amazing album), others are well deserved. Back in October, Dethklok released it’s strongest body of work yet in the long awaited Dethalbum III. The effort is being acknowledged with 3 Golden Gods nominations this year.

Dethklok’s master mind, Brendon Small, is nominated for BEST GUITARIST. Gene Hoglan has been nominated for BEST DRUMMER (ok, so there’s a partial nod to Testament). Finally, the song “I Ejaculate Fire” got a nomination for BEST SONG.

The winners in all 3 categories will be determined by the fans, so head over to the Golden Gods website, and cast your votes! Voting ends April, 15th.

The 5th Annual Revolver Golden God’s awards show will take place on May 2nd at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, and will be hosted by Chris Jericho. In previous years, only a condensed version was shown on TV, a week or two after the actual event, but for the first time, it will be broadcast live on television through AXS TV. It will also be streamed through Xbox LIVE and Facebook.
