The following statement was released by WBD:

A mastering error has been discovered that affects select copies of Metalocalypse: The Complete Series DVD. The affected product is missing the special Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem – A Klok Opera from one of the Season 4 discs. Unfortunately, a small quantity of product was sent to retailers before the issue was identified. Consumers who have purchased the title may contact WB Customer Support for a replacement disc at whv@warnerbros.com. Additionally, corrected product is currently being manufactured and will be shipped to retailers as soon as it is available.

The listing for the DVD version of the complete series has been removed from Amazon while WBD works to resolve this problem. iTunes is still selling it digitally with the missing special included.

This comes after many who recently purchased the digital version the Venture Bros. “complete” series noted that it was missing both Shallow Gravy: From the Ladle to the Grave and All That and Gargantua-2 specials bringing into question the quality control being done by WBD before releasing these sets of classic Adult Swim shows.

The long-awaited return of Adult Swim’s favorite heavy metal adventure “Metalocalypse” arrives with a nationwide tour of the series’ on-screen band DETHKLOK. A full-length original film, written and directed by Brendon Small, “Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar,” a companion soundtrack and “Dethalbum IV” will also arrive this year.
 
DETHKLOK will kick off their twenty-nine-date national tour on August 30 with Japanese kawaii metal pioneers BABYMETAL as co-headliners and virtuoso guitarist Jason Richardson as support.
 
“It’s very surreal having so much new ‘Metalocalypse’ & DETHKLOK this year with the trifecta of the tour, movie and album,” said Small. “I’m so excited to get on the road with the powerful BABYMETAL, and to celebrate all the hard work that team ‘Metalocalypse’ and DETHKLOK put in over the last two years and beyond!”

“Metalocalypse” originally premiered in 2006 on Adult Swim and was created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha.

The event, which has been in existence a few short years, has featured many talents from the Swim universe (both Tim and Eric as well as The Mighty Boosh were there last year). This year will be no different… along with Dethklok, the show will also feature Eric Andre, The State, Fred Armisen & Bill Hader, Heidecker & Wood, Kumail Nanjiani, Norm MacDonald, Janeane Garofalo, Maria Bamford, Nick Kroll, Natasha Leggero, and Ron Lynch… all of which have (or will soon) appear on Swim at one point or another.

The event isn’t until October 25th (but let’s face it… October will be here before you can say “New York Comic-Con.” Tickets are now available at www.festivalsupreme.com and the show will be out at the L.A. Sports Arena & Exposition Park. Hopefully, by October we’ll have some more substantial Metalocalypse news, outside of “The future looks bright.”

Dethalbum III will be released on CD and a deluxe edition CD/DVD on October 16th in North America. It will be downloadable on the 16th as well, which will be available for other countries. On November 6th a vinyl edition of the album with special etching will also be released.
