During Friday’s Rick and Morty panel, it was announced that a spin-off would be happening… now first, you’re probably asking yourself… is it for Mr. Poopybutthole? Squanchy? Morty Jr? Mr. Nimbus? Ants-in-my-Eyes Johnson? None of the above…

Legendary voice/actor Keith David (Gargoyles, They Live, countless others) who voices President Curtis on the show will be getting a spin-off, “set in the ‘Rick and Morty’ Universe” co-starring Jim Rash (Community, Mike Tyson Mysteries) and Stephani Beatriz (Twisted Metal, Bob’s Burgers).

No further info besides the below press release, but if any previous R&M episodes featuring President Curtis are any indication… expect crazy stuff.

That being said, we’ve mentioned Adult Swim’s plans for next week’s big San Diego Comic-Con including Adult Swim Festival and the panels and screening they will be having. But if you’re not fortunate enough to make it to any of those, or if you’re looking for more… we have your back on a few panels of note worth attending:

SDCC is just a few short weeks away (from July 19 – 23) and Adult Swim is officially bringing their yearly Adult Swim Festival into town. Here are a list of the events, screenings, meet & greets and more!

Keep in mind, these are Pacific Daylight Times, and also they may be sold out by the time you go to check in (but don’t let that discourage you… hopefully more tickets will open up due to scalpers/roboscammers.. or maybe just sneak in? Adult Swim revealed details today for their annual Adult Swim Festival featuring an exciting schedule headlined by Eric Andre, comedian and host of “The Eric Andre Show,” and producer, rapper and filmmaker Flying Lotus. Taking place outside the San Diego Convention Center (5th Avenue Landing and Convention Way) on Thursday, July 20 through Saturday, July 22, the Adult Swim Festival on the Green in San Diego will also include performances by comedian Sarah Sherman (aka Sarah Squirm, “Saturday Night Live,” Adult Swim Flayaway Infomercial)Hemlocke SpringsGinger RootDeathbyRomy, and producer and DJ Akira Akira. All activities are free to attend, with advance reservations now available for the most popular moments at AdultSwimFestival.com.

“Adult Swim has always been more than its shows,” said Adult Swim President Michael Ouweleen. “It’s also about music, comedy, art, and, as often as possible, getting out there with the actual fans in real life and celebrating the stuff we love together. So that’s what this is about. And it’s free. But you have to promise us you’ll wear sunscreen and stay hydrated. And maybe wear a hat. Your mom asked that we make sure.”

In addition to the packed schedule of music and comedy acts, the Adult Swim Festival on the Green will feature can’t-miss custom show experiences. The “SMILING FRIENDS Rodeo” will celebrate one of Adult Swim’s most popular series with creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel. Acclaimed for their musical scores on “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal” and “Unicorn: Warriors Eternal,” Tyler Bates and Joanne Higginbottom will be joined by a live orchestra for “The Genndy Tartakovsky Musical Experience,” with an introduction by acclaimed creator Genndy Tartakovsky himself. Anime fans are also in for a special treat with the “Toonami on the Green” event featuring breaking news, surprise guests and never-before-seen reveals. Plus, to celebrate Adult Swim’s forthcoming “Checkered Past” programming block, the festival will present a trivia and screening event.

Pop-Tarts® will offer fans a respite from the action by inviting them into The Toasting Room: A Pop-Tarts Dining Experience. Taking place throughout the Adult Swim Festival, fans can enjoy a delectable three-course prix fixe menu featuring a variety of iconic Pop-Tarts flavors and leave with special Pop-Tarts mementos. No reservation needed.

Festival attendees can also beat the heat with a hydration station at the festival that will be offering delicious, fruit-infused Hint Water and vitamin-boosted Hint+ Vitamin.
