Royal Crackers, the most watched new show on Adult Swim in 2023, got renewed for a second season!

Beginning on February 29th at midnight, fans of the Hornsby Cracker family will get to dive deeper into the family’s hilarious dysfunctions. Brothers Stebe and Theo will have to deal with their father’s questionable and sometimes downright unethical decisions. While Stebe and wife, Deb, will have to sort out some marriage issues. And of course, son Matt faces challenges at school as well as within his own family.

If you can’t stay up late to watch the premier when it airs on Adult Swim you can catch the new episodes the next day on Max.

THE MOST-WATCHED NEW ADULT SWIM SERIES OF 2023, SEASON TWO OF “ROYAL CRACKERS” ARRIVES THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 29 AT MIDNIGHT

BURBANK (January 25, 2024) – The second season of Adult Swim’s hit animated comedy about a dysfunctional family fighting over the legacy of their second-rate cracker company, “Royal Crackers,” premieres Thursday, February 29 at midnight ET/PT. The debut season of “Royal Crackers” was the most-watched Adult Swim original series of 2023.

Created by and starring Jason Ruiz, the half-hour comedy also stars Andrew Santino (“Dave,” “Bad Friends” podcast), Jessica St. Clair (“Veep,” “The Deep Dive” podcast), David Gborie (“Exploding Kittens,” “My Momma Told Me” podcast) and Maile Flanagan (“Naruto,” “Not Dead Yet”).

“This show is near and dear to me and our team is second to none,” said Ruiz. “I’m incredibly grateful to Adult Swim for supporting season two – which explores the deeper, lighter and darker sides of The Hornsbys.”

In “Royal Crackers” Season Two, the storylines delve deeper into brothers Stebe (Ruiz) and Theo’s (Santino) daddy issues as they’re forced to confront their father’s dark past. Theo continues to grapple with the aftermath of his fall from stardom and attempts to navigate his way towards self-acceptance. Meanwhile, Deb (St. Clair) and Stebe’s highly sexually charged relationship undergoes significant challenges, putting their bond to the test. Matt (Flanagan) struggles to fit in at school and with his family. All the while the Royal Crackers company tries to not only maintain relevance, but also to become the most popular snack food in the whole frickin’ world.

“Royal Crackers” was created by Ruiz, who also serves as executive producer along with Seth Cohen (“The Last Man on Earth,” “Hoops”) and Evan Mann (“Arrested Development”). The series is produced by Titmouse.

To the surprise of very few (unless you aren’t a fan), Adult Swim has greenlit Season Two of the (soon to be?) hit show, Royal Crackers, ahead of the Season 1 premiere next Sunday night. Between the first episode being show on YouTube as well as the April Fool’s surprise, definitely worth checking out.

The new half-hour comedy created by and starring Jason Ruiz follows the Hornsby family as they vie for control of their once-successful cracker company.

“Television has done a great job exploring how families clash over the fate of oil, media or cattle empires, but until now, no one has had the courage to address the savory snack food industry,” explained Michael Ouweleen, President of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network.

When the family patriarch, tyrannical company founder Theodore Hornsby Sr. ends up in a “super coma,” the rest of the Hornsbys will take their lack of talent and business acumen and try to make Royal Crackers the success it once was.To highlight the series launch, Adult Swim constructed a billboard that’s as unusual and unstable as the Hornsby family’s company. Almost two years ago, [adult swim] had announced two new shows coming to the network. One was Smiling Friends, which released its first full season back in January of last year, to amazing success and admiration. The second show was called Royal Crackers… a show that since the announcement we’ve been getting small bits of information about… until today.

[adult swim] dropped the official trailer for Royal Crackers, as well as a press release (below) for the upcoming debut… THREE 30 MINUTE EPISODES set for April 2nd (w/ next day HBOmax) at 11pm Eastern. The show’s produced by Titmouse and the style looks similar to that of Stroker and Hoop. It’s also created by the folks who did Last Man on Earth, Workaholics and Drunk History. Should be pretty interesting, and hopefully worth the wait. Here’s all the info…
