Comikaze Expo 2013 News & Notes https://adultswimcentral.com/2013/11/07/comikaze-expo-2013-news-notes/ https://adultswimcentral.com/2013/11/07/comikaze-expo-2013-news-notes/#respond Thu, 07 Nov 2013 17:19:00 +0000 https://adultswimcentral.com/?p=1976 This past weekend, L.A. was conquered by the third annual Comikaze Expo (hosted by Stan Lee, among others). While the event still dwarves in comparison to any Comic-Cons (takes time to build up a convention, have patience), Comikaze still brought us a few [adult swim] personalities such as Angus Oblong (The Oblongs), C. Martin Croker (Space Ghost C2C, The Brak Show), Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse, Venture Bros.), and even the folks from Titmouse.

Speaking of Titmouse, among the 3 or 4 different panels that took place during the weekend, we were fortunate to attend the L.A. Titmouse’s version of what we expect the NYCC one was like (we ended up missing that one. Meh). I have to say, while not much was shown (outside of Scott Mosier’s upcoming “Disco Destroyer” cartoon for Liquid Television), we were kept entertained via Titmouse’s Chris Prynoski, drawing commentary on a projector, as well as one Mouse-type masked J.J. Villard of the upcoming Swim show, “King Star King.”

The panel also included a Q&A with fans. While most of the questions were pretty lackluster (mostly dealing with industry questions in two and sometimes three parts), the most interesting question came in the form of “How is the future of Metalocalypse looking?” The question, fielded at co-creator Tommy Blacha, which he answered…

Our thanks to Comikaze Expo for having us out there. Had a stellar time and hope we can come back next year.

Speaking of conventions, our NYCC interviews will be made available starting Monday. Stay tuned!
