A new battle awaits in Ballmastrz: Rubicon! Creator Christy Karacas (Superjail!) returns to the post-apocalyptic world of the Ballmastrz for a high-octane adventure. Joining Karacas is original Ballmastrz: 9009 voice cast Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll), Dana Snyder (Aqua Teen Hunger Force), Dave Willis (Aqua Teen Hunger Force), Eric Bauza (Looney Tunes Cartoons) and Jessica DiCicco (Adventure Time).
 
Ballmastrz: Rubicon follows the events of the second season of the Adult Swim series Ballmastrz: 9009. When secrets from Crayzar’s past threaten the future of the planet, will he grow some balls and unite ‘Team Earth,’ or add humanity to the intergalactic endangered species list?
 
The anime-inspired adventure was animated by STUDIO4℃ in Japan (Mind Game, Tekkonkinkreet, Detroit Metal City) with Takashi Nakamura (Robot Carnival, AKIRA, Yatterman, Catnapped!) serving as animation director.
 
“We got the teams back together, but this time it’s more than a game, it’s the ultimate battle for humanity’s survival!” explained Karacas. “I can’t wait for fans to see more of Crayzar, the Leptons, and all the teams of the game as they join forces in the epic anime space opera special Ballmastrz: Rubicon!”

Leading up to the HBOmax (and HBO?) as well as Adult Swim premieres of the new movie, Swim has officially announced a 12th season of everyone’s favorite anthropomorphic food monsters and their quest to rid the world of hunger… or something. While the five episode run is a tiny bit baffling (we’ve been speculating rampantly as to how they came upon that exact number), we’ll take any amount of ATHF we can get! Plus, stranger things have happened… that is to say, who knows what could happen leading up to the premiere (date TBD)?

Adult Swim, the leader in adult animation and #1 destination for young adults, has ordered a 12th season of the perennial favorite “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” from original creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro. Encompassing five all-new episodes, the order comes on the heels of the latest feature film “Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm,” which arrives on HBO Max Feb. 8 and on Adult Swim March 12 at midnight.

“We are thrilled to be making more ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force’ episodes for a new generation of fans, building upon the most impressive collection of IP ever assembled. Success is optimal and leads to quality,” said Maiellaro and Willis simultaneously, almost as if they were programmed by ChatGPT.

 “Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm” features everyone’s favorite Aqua Teens: the brainy Frylock, the mouthy Master Shake, the loveable Meatwad, and everyone’s favorite perverted neighbor, Carl. They split up then get back together to fight everyone’s favorite corporate overlord, Amazin, led by everyone’s favorite tech mogul, Neil (voiced by everyone’s favorite Peter Serafinowicz) and his trusty scientist sidekick, Elmer (Golden Globe* winner Paul Walter Hauser, who is everyone’s favorite).

The feature stars Carey Means “The Brak Show”) as Frylock, Dana Snyder (“Squidbillies”) as Master Shake, and co-creator Dave Willis (“Squidbillies,” “Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell”) as Meatwad. The film also stars Peter Serafinowicz (“The Tick”), Paul Walter Hauser (“Black Bird”), Natasha Rothwell (“The White Lotus”), Robert Smigel (“Bob’s Burgers”) and Tim Robinson (“Detroiters”). The movie was written and directed by series creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro and produced by Williams Street Productions.

The Emerald City Video Podcast is a periodic podcast hosted by entertainment journalist Russ Burlingame, with a rotating cast of hosts who used to work at the Emerald City Video store in East Syracuse, New York. The store was once awarded by the Video Software Dealers of America as the best small video store in the U.S. Though it closed in 2009, the store’s legacy still touches the daily lives of a lot of the people who used to work there, and the Syracuse community as a whole still has a lot of fondness for its memory.

The idea behind the podcast, which launched in 2016, was to bring the discourse you would get at a video store — talking with real humans about your movies, rather than trusting in an algorithm — back to…well, if not the world, or even Syracuse, at least to the guys who maybe missed that human connection the most: a bunch of pop culture junky loudmouths who used to run a really cool video store. Over the years, the Emerald City Video banner has flown over a number of themes, including specific episodes about TV series like Riverdale and Psych.
