“Should we support all the troops?” “The troops as a concept, but not all of them as individuals. Until you meet them, talk with them… Like, you a dick but I support the army, but you an asshole. I don’t support you.” -Eric Andre & Hannibal Buress

Swim Quote of the Day!

From TVByTheNumbers:

Adult Swim’s total day ranked #1 among adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 on basic cable this week. Compared to the same week in 2012, Total Day delivery grew among adults 18-24 by 6%, adults 18-34 by 6%, and adults 18-49 by 1%.

In primetime (Broadcast definition), Adult Swim ranked #1 among all basic cable networks for delivery of adults 18-34. Compared to the same week in 2012, Primetime delivery grew across the board—adults 18-24 by 23%, adults 18-34 by 22%, adults 18-49 by 13%, men 18-24 by 15%, men 18-34 by 13% and men 18-49 by 5%.

NTSF:SD:SUV:: (Thursday, 12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24 & 18-34, while earning gains among all targeted adults and men 18-34 & 18-49 vs. the same time period last year.

A new episode of The Venture Brothers (Sunday, 12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot with all targeted adults and men, increasing delivery by double-digits across the board – ranging between 29% and 92% – vs. the same time period last year.

Saturday night’s new episodes of Bleach (12 a.m.), and One Piece (1 a.m.) each ranked #1 in their respective timeslots with all targeted adults and young men, while Naruto (12:30 a.m.) and Soul Eater (1:30 a.m.) ranked #1 in their respective time periods among adults 18-24 & 18-34 and all targeted male demos.

Adult Swim programming accounted for 33 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week – more than any other network – among adults 18-34.

I talked a bit about this last night. At noon time today, adultswim.com unloaded a brand new site which integrates the now former Thing X, into a Pinterest-style site that seems never-ending. While I’ll both miss the minimalist approach Swim took with their last revamp as well as admit I’m not a fan of Pinterest (although we do have our own… but we have someone who kinda takes care of it,) I’m rather digging this revamp.

New stuff shows up at the top… we now know that Childrens and NTSF will be back in July. Each bit is also categorized – for example, if you wanted to only read articles, you can click on “Articles” and they all appear. Looks like Games and TV still remain separate as well. Still expect to see vids from Thing X (Like “On Cinema” with Tim Heidecker) as well.

As a bonus, look who’s here to welcome you to the new as.com…

P.S.: If Thing X’s offices in NYC are still open… wonder if Swim is hiring. ;)

Things have been pretty quiet over at Thing X HQ… videos and blog entries are posted from time to time, but with very little fanfare. I have to say, I was a bit reluctant from the get-go, considering how Swim takes something random (I.e.: Super Deluxe,) puts outs killer content, and then sucks the life out of it until they have no more use of it. This, however is a different spin… I’ll let Mike (the “head-honcho” over at Thing X) elaborate:

So yeah. Not only is Thing X “moving” to adultswim.com, but evidently a NEW adultswim.com has been in the works and will be unleashed unto an unprepared world tomorrow! Hopefully they keep the minimalist approach. I’ve been enjoying that. Stay tuned.

New Week, even newer Venture Bros.! Check ‘em out…

Swim Quote of the Day!

If you’ve listened to any Jack Black interviews in the past few months, you’ll know he’s been talking about planning a comedy music festival in California. He’s finally made it official and well it’s not what he originally planned on it being, there are several great acts involved. First of all Tenacious D is headlining. You’ve also got Triumph the Insult Dog, Garfunkel and Oates, and the Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are bringing back the Mr. Show experience.

I know what you’re thinking. That’s cool, but what does this have to do with Adult Swim? Well, several of the acts are people you know from Adult Swim shows. First of all, half of the headliners have been on Tim and Eric. (Including Tim and Eric themselves. You’ve also got Neil Hamburger, Will Forte, and Zach Galifianakis.) And Megan Mullally, the Chief from Children’s Hospital is bringing her band Nancy and Beth to the festival.

Then you’ve got my personal favorite–The Mighty Boosh will be reuniting for one of the only US shows they’ve attempted, which I was kind of disappointed when Adult Swim picked the show up that they didn’t do a US tour so for anybody like me that really wanted to see them and is willing to head out to Cali and pay $99–there you go!

Anyways, the festival takes place on October 19th at the Santa Monica Pier in California and tickets can be purchased starting June 14th here for $99 or $250 for VIP. Also they will be available through Ticketmaster. And while you’re on the site, check out some of the other comedians who’ll be at the festival.
