From all of us here at central: The happiest of Thanksgivings to you and your family. Just make sure you keep Gobblox safe from the great turkey wars of 9595.
This week, we’re inching ever so closer to that special holiday in November… Black Friday (oh, and that other holiday that some people celebrate by eating turkey). Officially, this marks the start of the Christmas season. Having said that, [adult swim] has announced two super-special Christmas episodes of two of their programs:
NTSF:SD:SUV:: – “Wreck the Malls”
Premieres Thursday, December 12 at 12:15 a.m. (ET, PT)
It’s an NTSF:SD:SUV:: Christmas which means murderous Santas, the gift of corpses, and verbal slights to all other religions. This year, Trent’s children learn the true meaning of Christmas when a terrorist Mall Santa takes over the mall, trapping them inside with only their wits as weapons, while locking out the rest of their team, desperate to get in and continue shopping for last minute gifts.
Robot Chicken – “Born Again Virgin Christmas Special”
Premieres Monday, December 16 at Midnight (ET, PT)
Robot Chicken takes down Christmas once again! Our writers reveal the origins of the Heat Miser and Cold Miser. Witness Ebenezer Scrooge learn the true TRUE meaning of Christmas. Learn the perils of getting a job at the North Pole. Discover how Santa Claus ruined World War One’s greatest day!
Perfect way to spend the holidays. Tune in!
A week removed from the big series premiere. [adult swim] presents to you the first episode (EARLY) of Rick and Morty:
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything in regards to Swim outside of the U.S. We already know U.K.’s been suffering from withdrawal, Canada receives Swim through Teletoon, and other than that, there are remnants of Swim programming in Europe proper.
It seems there’s a bit of hope for the EMEA (that’s Europe, Middle East, and Asia for those who don’t know the lingo) area of Cartoon Network in the fact that now Australia has access to all kinds of Swim-related content. In years previous, Aussieland has had major success with their DVD distributor, Madman Entertainment (which FYI has the COMPLETE Moral Orel DVD as well as shows we have yet/may never have on DVD here in the States). Now, Swim AU in association with MCM Entertainment Group have launched a brand new adultswim.com.au site as well as apps available on all your favorite smartphone devices.
If you’re Australian (from Australia), check out all the Swim-related fun you’ve been missing (or have yet to Torrent) over at adultswim.com.au today!
Some of you you might have noticed that Tim Heidecker’s been showing up in a lot of movies and shows lately. The most recent of which is Eastbound and Down on HBO. And if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably sat there and thought to yourself, “So…does the fact that he’s moved on to other projects mean that he’s done with Adult Swim then?” There’s an answer to that question now–nope.
He and Eric have a new series coming to Adult Swim next year called Tim and Eric’s Bedtime Stories. According to Deadline.com,the series is:
“A new quarter-hour live-action dark comedy anthology series written and directed by Heidecker and Wareheim, where episodes delve into fantasy and the unknown with the aid of celebrity guest stars.”
The pilot episode aired on Halloween and guest-starred Zach Galifianakis and involved the guys spending a night in a haunted house in order to claim an inheritance. If you happened to miss it, it’s currently available on Adult Swim’s website. Go here and enter your cable provider’s information to watch it. Production on the series begins next February. No word on the actual premiere date yet.
One thing’s for sure–the Venture Brothers DVD’s certainly come out quicker than new seasons of the show do. Season 5 has been given a release date of March 4, 2014. Fans can expect the DVD to feature commentary, deleted scenes, and all 8 episodes as well as the Very Venture Halloween special and Shallow Gravy special. As of posting, the DVD was listed at a price of $24.98. Though Amazon pre-order has it for $17.49 at the time of posting.
My favorite thing about the DVD has to be the awesome packaging that’s designed to make it look like an old Hardy Boys novel as seen here:
It may not arrive quite in time to put on your holiday wish list but you can save up that gift card or cash and pick it up when it comes out. We’ll keep you posted on anymore Venture news that comes our way.
Last leg of this year’s NYCC Vid Week. *sadface*
I chat with “Community’s” Dan Harmon and Lemongrab himself, Justin Roiland about their new series “Rick and Morty.” I ask about the original short “Doc and Mharti” that sorta-kinda (not really) inspired the series, as well as any possible “Community” voice connections on the show:
Thanks for joining us all week! NYCC was a blast and I for one can’t wait until next year!
One day removed from the season premier of Eagleheart (Paradise Rising), comes two more NYCC vids… which in fact are Eagleheart-related…
First, I chat with the Executive Producers of the series (Jason Woliner, Andrew Weinberg, and Michael Koman). The Trio discuss working on Eagleheart as well as the new season’s story arc:
Happy Tuesday! From NYCC ’13, here are some more interviews…
While normally we get to interview people doing shows for [adult swim], Fox Network was gracious enough to give us some short time to chat with some of the Bob’s Burgers crew… two icons in the Swimiverse: First, your’s truly talked with Larry Murphy (Assy McGee, Delocated) about working on Bob’s as well as some of his Swim stints. It was semi-awkward and the camera ended up dying halfway through. I never claimed to be professional:
A month ago, we attended the Geek Juggernaut known as New York Comic-Con. Much like last year, our video interviews are all set and ready to roll out. We present the first of a weeks worth of interviews your’s truly conducted with Swim-celebs. This first one features Robot Chicken’s Matthew Senreich and Breckin Meyer. I chat with the guys about the upcoming season as well as the second DC Comics special:
